Brizzi, Kennedy: Proud of Their Campaigns 11/7/2006 24 Hour News 8
One of the most hotly contested races is the one for Marion County Prosecutor. Candidates Carl Brizzi and Melina Kennedy voted this morning at their respective precincts.
The two ran a slew of negative ads throughout their campaigns. Brizzi attacked Kennedy on her lack of experience and Kennedy criticized Brizzi for the jail overcrowding problem and his financial choices.
Both say they're proud of the campaigns they ran.
"I'm really pleased with the campaign. I've spent my entire time getting out into the community talking to people directly, listening to our families on their front porches, making live personal calls to really be in touch with the voters and I think that's been a great part of the campaign I'm really proud of," said Kennedy.
"But again, I don't think there's anything we could have done differently in terms of how we've run the race and the resources that we were able to put to bear not only on TV, radio and mail but also we've made 150,000 phone calls in the last four of days. So that voter contact I think will really make the difference," said Brizzi.
Brizzi will await election results from the Hyatt downtown with Kennedy near-by at the Marriott. 24-Hour News 8 will have live reports coming up in our evening newscasts from both locations.
