About Carl Brizzi

Carl just concluded two successive terms as Marion County Prosecutor in 2002 and 2006. As prosecutor, Carl managed an annual budget in excess of 25 million dollars, led an office of more than 160 attorneys and over 400 total employees. Carl has also personally handled some of the most important cases in the history of Marion County. In 2009, Carl tried two of the most important cases in Indianapolis history. In October Desmond Turner was convicted of seven counts of murder for the brutal slaying of a family of 7. Turner was sentenced to life in prison without parole. In November Carl also tried Brian Reese in the attempted murder of IMPD Officer Jason Fishburn. Jason was shot in the head and nearly died. The jury convicted Reese of Attempted Murder and was subsequently sentenced to 59 years in prison Carl was named to the Indianapolis Business Journal's "40 under 40," list, and he has been included five consecutive years in the "Howey Political Report's Top 50 Most Influential People in Indiana Politics". Since 2008 he has been the host of the weekly radio show, "The Carl Brizzi Show" on 93.1 WIBC. Carl is a graduate of North Central High School and attended Indiana University for his undergraduate degree. He attended the Valparaiso University School of Law where he was awarded the Judge Luther M. Swygert Moot Court Award For Excellence in Trial Advocacy. Carl has also been named an "Outstanding Young Alumnus," by the school.
